A huge thank you to every advocate and organization who submitted feedback on the proposed coverage rules for lymphedema compression supplies!

The official Public Comment Period concluded yesterday. Medicare received a total of 752 comments on the entire proposed rule, which also contained other provisions, but a large majority of the comments were specific to lymphedema. It may be several weeks until all comments are posted for public view, so we wanted to share our group’s submission with you now.

We were very pleased overall with the proposed coverage rules and hope that the final rules will be even better. That said, work still remains!

Throughout the remainder of this year, we will be embarking on outreach to state Medicaid Directors and private insurance companies to urge them to quickly follow Medicare’s lead and align their 2024 coverage with that of Medicare’s. There will be ways you can help with that, so please stay tuned for our next call to action.

We are also working on creating new printed educational materials, to help get the word out to patients and clinicians about the upcoming coverage, and our group will be presenting at several conferences throughout this fall.

Although we are an all-volunteer group, all of these things have an associated cost, and if you are able to make a donation in any amount we would greatly appreciate it. Options to donate via PayPal or by mailing a check are available at the link above or below.

Thank you for your advocacy and support!
