Dear [CONTACT: first name],
We have two opportunities to share with you. The first is an international study about the effects of climate on lymphedema symptoms. All patients are invited to participate in this short survey.
The second opportunity is related to the National Institute of Health’s recently launched National Commission on Lymphatic Diseases (NCLD).
NCLD’s purpose is to gather input that serves to identify gaps and opportunities in lymphatic science, spur research, and evaluate the clinical, policy, and educational roadblocks to improving the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of lymphatic diseases.
NCLD is seeking input from a wide range of interested parties within and beyond the lymphatic community, including, but not limited to patients, caregivers, federal agencies, third-party payers, researchers, healthcare professionals, advocacy groups, and industry experts. The insights gained will help to:
- Identify the most significant gaps in current research efforts on lymphatics in health and disease.
- Understand the barriers encountered by researchers, clinicians, and patients (e.g., lack of awareness, funding, or insufficient resources and diagnostic and technological tools).
- Identify approaches and challenges to explore opportunities for collaboration, innovation and making effective advances in affordable and accessible diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of diseases resulting from lymphatic dysfunction.
Click here to share your input with NCLD through 11:59:59 pm (ET) on Friday, June 28, 2024. All relevant contributions are welcomed.
Thank you for your continued advocacy!
