We’ve finally reached our long-sought 60 Senate cosponsors – sort of. According to Congress.gov, the official government website for tracking legislative information, we have 60. However, three of the Senators listed are no longer in office.
To have 60 cosponsoring Senators who can vote for the bill we need three more, and hence this week’s call to action! Below are the 43 Senators not yet cosponsoring the LTA, followed by a call script.
If one or both of your Senators are not yet cosponsoring please call them this week. Typical Congressional office hours are 9:00am until 5:00 or 6:00pm EST, and many have after hours voice mail as well.
It’s quick and easy – honest! We’ve heard feedback from many members who had never called a Congressional office before who were pleasantly surprised. Your calls do make a difference!
