When I was 27 I had synovial sarcoma which is a tumor that doesn’t attach to anything so the surgery was very difficult with radiation to follow. I am now 72 so I have needed jobst stockings for the last 45 years and as we all know they are very expensive. I have never been able to use insurance for the purchases, so thank you so much for your hard work & help. I can’t go without them because not only the swelling starts but it is very painful.

I have had lots of problems with dealing with daily living. It started with surgery and 3 months of radiation I lived out of state so those 3 months were spent in the hospital. I broke a femur a few years later which was difficult to repair. The sarcoma surrounded my hip and the top of my femur so I needed to have two surgeries to fix with posts and nails. I have used full leg braces for many years so I bought very expensive shoes that were then attached to the brace with heavy metal under the sole and on each side of the brace to hold the shoes.

I have not had problems with getting insurance for all surgeries, braces, and so many Dr. appointments. I am still going once a year to the hospital for problems with circulation b/c I lost all circulation in my leg so had immediate surgery to have a fem-fem taking veins from good leg to bad leg. Radiation has caused no healing for all my surgeries. Needed to have a stomach flap to use good to cover the graft I needed and the skin that would not heal. This was another long hospital stay. It would finally pay for my Jobst stockings and medical shoes. I cannot walk without my brace on so it’s a big deal.
