Reports are encouraged regardless of your insurance plan, but we are preparing outreach to these two companies and want to make sure we have heard from anyone who has been negatively impacted by their current lymphedema coverage policies. Your voice makes a difference!
A couple of weeks ago we told you about the Second Chance Compression program offered by the Lighthouse Lymphedema Network(LLN).
The great news is, they have received so many donated compression garments and supplies in response to that message that they are currently out of storage space. When they have the ability to begin collecting items again we will let you know.
In the meantime, if you have new or gently used lymphedema treatment supplies that you would like to donate, we suggest talking to your lymphedema therapist and/or lymphedema supplier. It’s very likely that they know of a patient in your community who could be helped by the item(s).

Because it is still taboo to discuss our “private parts” in public, genital lymphedema is often overlooked and left untreated. This presentation will help participants understand the anatomy of the pelvic region, common causes of genital lymphedema, the most common signs and symptoms, and evaluation and treatment techniques.
Attendees will learn how to recognize genital lymphedema, understand the importance of not ignoring the area, learn how to modify complete decongestive therapy (CDT), and the importance of hygiene.
