If you or your patients have United HealthCare (UHC) and have experienced coverage problems related to a Synapse, a supplier contracted with UHC, we have important information for you.
After receiving a number of Synapse-related complaints through our Denial Reporting Form, we were able to meet with representatives from Synapse to discuss our concerns. They were very receptive and have provided the contact information that is copied below my signature.
We encourage everyone to continue to use our Denial Reporting Form to report not only denials, but also other coverage-related problems. While we typically can’t assist with individual cases, it is this information that enables us to know about and address issues in a broad fashion, and work toward changes that benefit everyone.
We also urge you to appeal any denial you receive. Statistics show that denials are overturned on appeal 70–80% of the time! There is helpful information for all types of insurance plans on our Appeal Resources Page.
